Our New website is now live!
Being able to sit down with Sebi and go through everything step by step made the process clear and manageable.
Welcome to our new website! In an effort to include at least one cliché, to say this has been quite the journey to this point would be putting it mildly.
For context, Uplandian started life close to 20 years ago, albeit under a different name operating primarily around Hertfordshire. This was back in the olden times when having a website and using the internet wasn’t anywhere close to being the essential tool that it is today.
Andy was the owner of said business for most of this time. Since 2019, Uplandian has been going through a series of changes including leadership and I (Aidan) am now running the business full time with Andy overseeing the planning part of the business.
This is only relevant because as part of the changeover I believed that the business should be moving into new areas, new locations and offering a broader range of services. As such some re-branding was required, starting with a new website.
As a Bedfordshire local, I did the obligatory online research and reached out to a local business – Simply Creative Agency, based in Bedford town centre, run by Sebi.
It’s fair to say that designing and building websites is not a strong subject for me and regardless of how many companies or websites are available that promise to make creating a website simple and straightforward, this was never going to be the case for me. I much preferred the fact I could go and sit down face to face with Sebi to go through every little detail. Which we did. Many times. Throughout the entire process Sebi was very patient in explaining everything to me, which really helped me understand just enough to make progress.
After much fettling and several delays thanks to me not realising how much actual content I would need to create to justify having a website at all, we finally agreed on the site you see now.
Is it perfect? Not quite, the nature of our business means we will forever be evolving, requiring additional content and updates as we go. However, am I pleased with what Sebi, the team and I (mostly Sebi and the team) have contributed to making the site what it is now? Yes. Definitely.
So what next? I will continue to create content for the site including the blog articles and I will also be adding more project specific content and information where appropriate so stay tuned for more updates on those.
Thank you to Sebi and the team at Simply Creative for your patience, understanding and most importantly, your creative ideas!
